When we found out that we’d won the Film Grand Prix at this year’s Cannes Advertisers Festival – and in our first year operating as a fully fledged digital production company – we were obviously over the moon.
Philips’ Carousel won a Silver Cyber Lion, a Gold Film Lion and the Film Grand Prix at the awards; we were so excited at the prospect of winning what is arguably the biggest award in adland that we all flew over to watch the show and join in the party. Here’s a few photos of our weekend….
We're not made of money...
Just visiting...
Getting ready
Presenting the project at the show
Collecting the Grand Prix
Walking back to the apartment on Sunday morning
We can’t wait to go back next year and do it all again!
Our crazy-talented (also: just plain crazy) friends at Amautalab have sent over some pictures that are too good not to share.
These are from ArteBA, reportedly Buenos Aire’s most important annual art fair. A selection of the works of Latin America’s most relevant and renowned contemporary artists were showcased, including Amautalab’s own “The Blindness of the Woods”.
If you haven’t seen the film, go here and have a look first. It’s basically a mashup of a fairy tale with The Muppets with a hardcore porn, so don’t say you haven’t been warned.
Anyway, for the show, Amautalab was invited by This Is Not A Gallery gallery to create an art installation and to exhibit the film. The installation consisted of the three main characters and some animals from the movie, all wrapped up in a big color explosion. Apparently the press response and the audience response have been great, which isn’t surprising; I don’t know how you see this and not respond.
PICS: [these get progessively more NSFW as you scroll down!]
E3 is on and Microsoft is going on the offensive with Project Natal. The demo is impressive but the Lionhead tech demo (above) suggests new possibilities for future marketing activites. Can you imagine what this could do for storytelling and branding? (Of course it would have to actually work first by recognizing Welsh accents and everyones need to live in a loft, but aside from that, it’s all good.)
