Dewar’s White Label has 167 years of incredible heritage. However, the young people who drink it weren’t necessarily aware of the origins of the scotch in their hands, and that it's lovingly produced in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.
Our brief was to create a connection between drinkers and the Master Blenders craftsman who make the scotch.
Each bottle has a unique code for drinkers to scan with their mobile. On scanning the bottle, the user is taken on an instant time-lapse journey, created using the Google Street View API. They're then invited to take a virtual tour of the distillery on their phone — allowing them to see the Cask Warehouse, the Filling Store and Still House in 360° detail — where characters are brought to life with integrated video.
Meanwhile, in the heart of the distillery, we created an installation (a used whisky cask and 3D printed parts) controlled with an Arduino that showed a bespoke view counter, which increased in real-time every time a bottle was scanned.
